OUR ENDANGERED VALUES -- Jimmy Carter In addition to describing national policy and foreign affairs, this book highlights the personal background of Jimmy Carter himself. Before reading this book, I was unaware of his strong religious beliefs and his farming background. Reassuringly, there is also strong evidence of Jimmy's separation between his personal beliefs and his duty as President. Our Endangered Values forces us to re-evaluate our relationship with nature and our neighbors in order to achieve a sense of equality and an overall track to sustainability. In stark contrast to his tenure as President, Jimmy describes the abuses and toxic policies of the Bush administration that have increased the chasm between rich and poor as well as invaded personal liberties. This book is a good read as we transition to a new administration. I would recommend it to those who are curious about prior administrations, Jimmy's personal background and beliefs, and an alternate path towards equality. I give this book 7 out of 10 pizza slices. Nothing was wrong with it, but it did not really put a fire under my belly. However, his analysis of the trend between rich and poor is well described and was a highlight of this book. Thanks Jimmy!
